1 metal packaging market segment of the iron market
According to incomplete statistics, there were about 800 printing iron production lines in the country in 2000, including more than 300 imported production lines, with an annual production capacity of 25 billion printing times. The metal barrels are mainly small buckets under 18 liters and large steel drums of 200 liters. The small barrels below 18 liters are mainly used for the transit packaging of raw materials, chemical coatings, paints and lubricants. In recent years, their output has grown strongly. The main problem: At present, there are four major problems in the Chinese metal packaging industry.
First, the production capacity of ordinary products is seriously over-capacity, and the ability of high-quality and high-quality products is obviously insufficient. It can produce small-capacity, ultra-thin tanks, various shaped tanks suitable for supermarket shelves, and too few boutique tank enterprises. The variety of cans is single, which is difficult to meet the requirements of further development of packaging, which restricts the development of metal packaging.
Second, metal packaging companies are mostly small in scale and low in industrial concentration. There are less than 60 enterprises with tons of tons of iron in China, and the largest COFCO packaging (Hangzhou COFCO Meite, Wuxi Huapeng Cap, Guangzhou Panyu Meite) consumes only 75,000 tons of tinplate, and produces 800 million yuan. There is a big gap with developed countries.
Third, lack of talent and innovation. In general, the metal packaging industry has low ability to develop and independently innovate advanced technologies and products. At present, the international mainstream has not been developed in the direction of digitalization, networking, high-speed and low-cost, more environmentally friendly and humanized, and the dependence on imports of major metal packaging equipment and materials in China has not been fundamentally changed.
Fourth, the high price of tinplate is currently the biggest difficulty. From June 2002 to now, the price has increased by 70%-80%. The increase in the cost of the metal can industry is difficult to transfer to the downstream industry, and has now entered a trough.
Development strategy intensive integration
At present, the key to the development of packaging enterprises is how to get out of the shadow of low-level, homogenization and single-price competition, and to make the transition to differentiation, scale, professionalism, internationalization and high value-added products. Many domestic enterprises have made successful explorations.
